The BVARC site at Hazelton is the farthest
west that the repeater network reaches. The next town west is Kitwanga
and from there to Terrace is the crooked Skeena River Valley. The
valley runs between very high, rugged mountains making the installation
of intermediate repeater sites difficult and expensive. This and the
small Amateur Radio population in the area means that the dream to link
to Terrace and Prince Rupert remain just that, a dream.
